Well I finally did it. I’ve got my own author website and domain name. So I guess this means I’d hit the big time!
I plan on posting on this website all the information readers will want to know about me and my books. As well as my marketing plans. Trying to get the word out for any indie author is the hardest part, and time consuming. Moving forward the idea is to get out there more and promote. My new marketing guru Vicki Drane has been working round the clock getting more exposure for me and my books. I’ll even be getting on a plane and travelling for book signings in a few months. Those that know me best realize how difficult this will be for the “I’d rather be by myself walking a mature trail in the backwoods” than in the throng of bodies at a writers event. But I’m doing it and more. Stay tuned and see how it all turns out. The ride is just beginning!
“Beautiful story and well written. It is a short story you can read in a half hour. It definitely is a clean read, no sex and no explicit language. It would especially appeal to YA readers, but adults will love it.
It is the story of a not very successful detective who takes on a case that will obviously, not make him any money. A young by asks him to find a valuable baseball card that was either lost or stolen from him. Afraid to tell his dad that he lost the valuable heirloom entrusted to him, he seeks the help of the neighborhood’s down and out private eye. By the end of the story, both of the characters learn a valuable lesson. I loved this story. I will absolutely read more by this author in the future.” – Zeecé Lugo
“I really enjoyed reading this short story by R. Weir. I love mystery books and this one was simple and wasn’t drawn out like most are. I really liked how the main character Jarvis, the PI, agrees to help a young boy find his missing baseball card. I had no clue until it was said who took the card and I was just as surprised as the characters were. I really thought this book had a great moral story behind it, and I can’t wait to read more from this author!” – Brandi Pearson
“Jarvis Mann is a Denver private detective. When he gets a call from a prospective client, he’s thrilled. Hey, it’s a client. And her voice sends a frisson of something else down his…spine.
Emily will never get a gig as a centerfold, but she’s attractive. She tells Jarvis she’s being stalked, and asks for his help. Her stalker is a shadow in the background.
R. Weir’s Tracking A Shadow is a fresh, fun detective story. Jarvis is a wise-cracking PI. His chatty inner thoughts keep the reader engaged, smiling, and on their toes. The pop culture references add an extra dimension to the story. Mr. Weir does an excellent job with giving the reader the pieces of the puzzle. It’s up to the reader to put them together.”- Jada Ryker
“Simply wow! I loved it. I felt like I was transported back in time to the tome’s of the mystery and suspense novels of the 1940s. This book had all you would expect of the gumshoe private I, and the femme fatale of a Dashell Hammett book. But it was contemporary and steamy in parts. I look forward to reading more by this author as I was on edge reading it and constantly wondering what would come next. Marvelous!”- Mona Lisa
“I have read other books by R. Weir and once again I was not disappointed. He is a great writer and each book I read is even better. So first off I want to say thank you again to him for giving me the opportunity to read and review his newest book.
So this book brings back Jarvis Mann the detective. In this book he is helping his landlord Kate find out some information on her husband. Along with that case, this book also picks up the story of his friend Bill, who often helps him with his cases, and his missing son Ray. You are first introduced to Bill and Ray in Tracking a Shadow, another of R. Weir’s books. Throughout this book these two cases seem to collide bringing with it action, betrayal, and a sense of loyalty.
I absolutely love the Jarvis character. He just has a great, dont mess with me attitude that is easy to relate too. I also am really rooting for him and Melissa. 🙂
To me, this book was the best one yet and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I really enjoy reading books by R. Weir. His writing is good and the stories are easy to love and get swept into. I look forward to reading more from him in the future….Stormi” – Boundless Book Reviews
“This is the 3rd book in the Jarvis Mann Detective Series and I feel it is the best one so far. Each book gets better.
Jarvis is a detective that runs his business out of his own apartment.
In this book he actually has two different investigations going. During this investigations he pulls in characters from the first two books. It was great to re-visit them.
He investigates his landlord Kate’s husband as she knows he is up to no good and wants proof so she can get him out of her and her children’s lives.
At the same time he is contacted by his police officer friend, Bill, who has helped Jarvis out quite a bit in the past on his cases, to help him locate his missing son, Ray.
During all this Jarvis is working on repairing his relationship with Melissa. Whom we are introduced to in the 2nd Book.
Both investigates are full of twists and danger.
This is very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Great job!” – Tina
“In this 4th installment of the Jarvis Mann series, Weir doesn’t disappoint. Jarvis is personally involved and conflicted as he tries to ferret out the trouble his brother is in. He hasn’t returned to his hometown in years and his memories are not of the happy kind, except for the girl who got away. When his brother is killed, it gets more personal. He calls in favors, but at what risk?
The story moves along at a good pace, the characters are well-developed. If you like a good mystery reminiscent of PI classics, you’ll enjoy the latest addition to this series. Although necessary for the story, there is some sexual content and violence that may be offensive to same. Both Jarvis and his brother have some problems with infidelity. This is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone. Weir provides the necessary background from the previous book. On the other hand, reading this one first will spoil some of the fun from the first three. I’ve read all four and just want to know when to expect #5.” C-Lu
“Enter the world of mystery, mayhem, and murder.
Jarvis Mann has returned in Blood Brothers and this time he is called to help family. As he travels back to his hometown he will deal with a brother who does not want him sticking his nose in his family or his business and dealing with memories of his childhood. What starts out as a case of a wandering husband turns into a field of lies, murder, and mayhem. Who will fall and who will stand when this case is closed!
Each book that Mr. Weir writes just keeps upping the suspense. This one has plenty of action and suspense that will keep you reading. There is not a dull moment and you don’t know who is telling the truth, who is lying, and who will be alive at the end. I love a great mystery that keeps you guessing to the end.
What made me love this story even more is because this case has to do with family we get to know and understand Jarvis more. You will see some back story into his childhood. Mr. Weir does a phenomenal job of writing a character that is not perfect. I find myself laughing and shaking my head as some of Jarvis’s antics. His checking out the pretty lady, enjoying his delicious burger, cracking jokes and so on. We also see some of Melissa in this story as Jarvis and her keep working on their shaky relationship. When you can relate well to the characters it creates a fictional world you can immerse yourself into
Kudos to another great Mann detective novel Mr. Weir. Can’t wait to see what is in store for Jarvis.” – X-Rayer
