Now Available: Audiobook for The Divine Devils

Happy Halloween to everyone. I’ll start off by sharing a picture of our pumpkin patch haul, which wasn’t too bad. We picked and shared them with our neighbors, who happily took most of them after we kept three for ourselves.

Here is a couple of pictures of beautiful fall colors I captured on the drive to one of our events.

At the beginning of the newsletter, you’ll find my new logo. It was designed by my cover artist Mia, who felt it was time for an update to combine the logos for my two book series. I think it really stands out and will be a great eye-catcher. It will be part of the new table banner I’m now using, which combines all of my book titles and this banner below to post for advertisements and social media.

After three previous attempts, with three different narrators that didn’t work out for various reasons, I’m finally thrilled to announce the audiobook for my Silver Falchion Award-Winning Book The Divine Devils is now available. The long road to getting the audiobook finalized, which took nearly two years until I finally found the right person for the job. After a strong audition, I hired Phillip Polite, who I believe did a wonderful job of bringing this book to life. This wasn’t an easy task with the length of the book being over 400 pages and the number of different characters in the story of over 60, which made The Divine Devils a real challenge for anyone to produce. But Phillip worked hard on the project and finished it in good time. I will be doing a Facebook Live with Phillip this weekend, to interview him about the project. Tentatively it’s scheduled for 10AM Mountain time on Sunday (Oct 29th). You can go to my Facebook account for more details and I’ll post the video on my website for everyone to watch. If you like his work on The Divine Devils, Phillip is available for other audio projects. You can reach out to him via his Instagram Account: @phil_the_narrator

So reach out and let me know if you are interested in hearing more of my award-winning series.

And a quick reminder I have two other audiobooks in the Jarvis Mann PI series that are available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes. First The Case of the Missing Bubble Gum Card narrated by Joel Frookmkin.

And then Tracking A Shadow narrated by Eric Priessman is also available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes. I still have several US and UK promo codes for Tracking A Shadow that I’m willing to share with anyone with an Aubible account who will post a review. Again just reach out via my email and I’ll contact you.

My other big news is my free promo for the eBook of The Divine Devils went #1 on the Amazon Organized Crime list, as well as top five on a couple of others. And my reviews/ratings for the book have shot up to over 115 on Amazon and 96 on Goodreads with an average of over 4.2 stars. A great boost for the book which has brought more readers to the rest of the series.

Here are two of the new 5-star reviews for The Divine Devils.

The story was intriguing and engaging right to the last paragraph. Well written and
challenges the reader to not set the book down. Its plot has many twists that are interesting and entertaining. Yet no part of this book is predictable! I can only hope the rest of the series can fulfill the high expectations the first book set -Frank

This was my first time reading a book by R. Weir. I found myself hooked in the first few chapters. Once I was hooked I couldn’t put the book down. I lost a lot of sleep reading this book. I just had to know who the bad guys were and why they did what they did. I also loved the villian Valarie and one of the good guys Athena and there threats against each other. I found myself greatly anticipating their big show down. Hunter Divine ex US Marshall was such a great character as well as his special team he put together. This was book 1 in the series and I am dying to get to book 2 now – Kathi

Kathi also posted a video review on Facebook of The Divine Devils. Check it out via this link.

Divine Retribution: The Divine Devils Final Chapter has received several more 5-star reviews. Here are a couple of them:

R Weir writes an incredibly thrilling and suspenseful tale with Divine Retribution. This book is part of the The Divine Devils series, and this is volume four. I am a big fan of R Weir and read whatever this author writes. This author has a grand imagination, and talent for showing the story. With any series, I recommend reading the books from volume one. Hunter is an amazing man, and leader of the Divine Devils. Hunter is in a dark place, losing someone very close to him, almost wanting him to give up. He tries to fight through the dread and darkness and look for answers about his own childhood. He is surprised to find answers that may or may not be true, and could put his team in danger. This book says it’s his final chapter, but I hope not. Even if it is, the stories are just amazing, and very unputdownable! This story was absolutely incredible. This author is a superb storyteller. The reader just embarks on a superb journey. This is a magnificent plot that kept this reader turning the pages. The author’s technique of raw, magnetic characters and great plotlines is a gift. This final chapter is definitely unpredictable. Divine Retribution is a definite recommendation by Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews.

This read was a wild ride from the first chapter. Sad to see the series end but R Weir did the characters justice in this book. Faced with a tragedy Hunter goes dark. He knows the Divine Devils will have his back and when needed they do. When faced with his past he finds some secrets long buried. My emotions were a wreck from all he has endured. Kudos to Mr Weir for making me scared to turn each page. My emotions were put through the wringer for all the danger the Divine Devils faced. I didn’t want any of them to meet death. Did they, you ask. You will have to read to see. A great read that will keep the suspense coming and the nail biting moments a plenty. Mr Weir creates characters that you are invested in long after you read the last page – Shelly

This was one of the book cover designs I decided not to use.

Last week I met with the Torca Book Club at the Callahan House in Longmont Colorado. I met Genja (what a great and unique first name) at an event in Longmont last year and she invited me to speak with them after reading my novel Tracking A Shadow. I had a great time answering questions from all of the ladies in this beautiful historical house. If you’re in a book club and would like an author to come talk with you, reach out via my email. I’m always happy to come to your location if you live on the Colorado Front Range. If you’re outside that area I can always chat with you via video or phone conference.

I’ll wrap up this newsletter with a picture of Dakota’s dog, Nuka, resting with me in bed while I watched the Wyoming vs. Air Force college football game, as Kim and Dakota were at the game in Colorado Springs. After my long day at a craft fair, Nuka got comfortable on my lap to keep me company.

All the best!!
